Alaris MNP/LNP Server: functionality
MNP/LNP Local Proxy
In this operation mode Alaris MNP/LNP Server acts as a local proxy for the carrier’s switches:
- it gets ported and LRN numbers updates from a central database via either
- files that contain blocks of new records (or changes) in the ported numbers database or
- real-time dips of the central database based on the real-time requests from its own clients. In this case the product is able to cache the requests results for a configurable period of time.
- it accepts requests from the switching equipment and responses back with the new ported number or with the id of the new carrier holding the number (if the number was ported) OR with the same number (in case of the number is not ported).
MNP/LNP Central Server
In this operation mode Alaris MNP/LNP Server acts as the central server that provides underlying carriers information about the ported and LRN numbers.
It aggregates information from all mobile/fixed carriers in the country about the changes in their ported number pools.
